Education and Equity Certificate

Description

The Education and Equity Graduate Certificate Program is designed to help educators develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to more effectively educate and advocate for children and families from under-served populations. It also identifies educators as experts in this field for current and future employers and provides them a platform for providing their expertise in this area with colleagues. Further, the program is designed to help educators create a more equitable educational system and larger society.  The certificate is intended for graduate education students; but students in any college may take an individual course as an elective.

The Education and Equity Graduate Certificate Program encompasses the Liberal Arts mission of Georgia College & State University as it addresses a regional need in Georgia schools to improve the educational practices for our most marginalized students.  It also reflects the GCSU mission of valuing diversity and inclusivity as a means to advance excellence.
